In Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, Wellington Russian Club organized the “Immortal Regiment” procession on May 9, Victory Day.
The “Immortal Regiment” action began with the Wreaths Laying Ceremony at the Memorial Stela dedicated to the heroes of the Russian Arctic Convoy sailors. The Wreath Laying Ceremony was organized by the Convoy veterans. Embassy of Russian Federation in New Zealand, representatives of the New Zealand Navy, Wellington Russian Club, the Military Historical Group “10th Stalingrad Division” and Russian compatriots took part in the ceremony.
After the Ceremony, the procession of the “Immortal Regiment” continued the march along the central part of Wellington Waterfront. Russian compatriots held photographs of their relatives, participants of the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945.
