When a Fairy Tale Comes to Life: Screening of Buratino (2025)

This past weekend, the Russian Club of Wellington hosted a family screening of the new Buratino (2025) adaptation. The gathering felt genuinely heartwarming: families arrived together with children and friends, and it was especially delightful to see many newcomers who joined our events for the very first time. The Club continues to grow, and every new smile makes our community feel even more welcoming.

The film left a bright and joyful impression. Children watched with complete fascination, fully absorbed in the story. And when the final music began to play, no one could resist — the kids rushed onto the stage and burst into cheerful dancing. Their pure excitement instantly filled the room and became one of those magical moments that make an evening truly unforgettable.

After the screening, following our cherished Club tradition, we gathered for tea and sweets. We talked about this fresh interpretation of the beloved tale, reminisced about the classic 1970s film, and shared favourite scenes and funny moments. Conversations like these always create a special sense of togetherness — when each person sees something different in the same story, yet everyone shares the joy of being together.

The evening turned out warm and home‑like, filled with lively conversation, children’s laughter, and the feeling of a real celebration. Another wonderful event in the life of the Club — one we already want to relive.
