Cheburashka 2 (2026) — A Big Family Film Event!

At the end of August, the Wellington Russian Club hosted a bright and genuinely warm event — a screening of the new Russian comedy Cheburashka 2 (2026). Families with children came to the gathering, and the interest in the film proved to be truly sincere: viewers followed Cheburashka’s adventures with lively attention and heartfelt engagement. The film captivated not only the children — adults of all ages watched it with great interest and gladly shared the emotions of the younger audience.

The screening brought together viewers of different ages and became a wonderful occasion for a shared evening. After the final credits, guests were treated to a surprise: Vladimir Zvyagintsev, appearing as Crocodile Gena, played the accordion and performed beloved songs from the classic animated film. Parents joined in singing familiar melodies, children danced — and the hall filled with that very atmosphere that cannot be created artificially: lively, sincere, and festive.

The musical interlude smoothly turned into a cheerful children’s disco. Stage lights, upbeat music, and the endless energy of the kids made the evening truly unforgettable. It was one of those rare moments when cinema, music, and friendly conversation come together to form one big joyful celebration.

Following a good club tradition, guests brought pies, cookies, blini, and other homemade treats. After the film, everyone gathered around the buffet tables: enjoying the food, pouring drinks, talking, sharing impressions, and simply appreciating the warm atmosphere of the evening. Such gatherings create a special sense of community — when everyone brings a little bit of warmth, and together it becomes a real small celebration.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this evening so lively and bright.
