Wellington Russian Club Christmas Party — 2025

In Wellington, the spirit of the approaching New Year once again filled the air, and the Wellington Russian Club brought together children and parents for a warm New Year’s celebration — a bright and heartfelt finale to the passing year.

The event began with a dive into the world of classic Soviet animation: the beloved cartoon “When the Christmas Trees Are Lit” came to life on the big screen. Despite its age, it still touches the heart — children watched it without looking away, and adults smiled, as if transported back to their own childhood, filled with the scents of mandarins and pine needles.

But the true magic unfolded after the screening — when Father Frost and the Snow Maiden entered the hall. Games, dances, and round dances began at once. The children eagerly showcased their talents: reciting poems — some boldly, others a little shyly — singing songs, solving riddles, and happily joining in every new activity. A special highlight was the surprise — a large red sack of sweets that Father Frost brought especially for the young participants. Laughter, excitement, and genuine festive spirit filled the room — the very things that make a children’s holiday truly magical.

And when Father Frost began handing out presents, the children’s happiness was beyond words — it simply shone on their faces.

This celebration became a festival of sincere emotions: ringing laughter, sparkling eyes, and the feeling that miracles really do happen. It gave children and adults many joyful moments they will want to remember for a long time.

The Wellington Russian Club extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped bring this celebration to life. Special thanks go to scriptwriter and director Natalia Platova; actors Natalia Zlobina, Denis Zarudny, Maria Savkova, Esmira Maksimova, Alina Fendrikova, and Ksenia Loseva for their talent, warmth, and vivid performances.

We also thank our young participants — Mila Sinitsina, Sofia Koroteeva, and Alexander Haiduch — for their courage and creativity. Additional thanks to Valery Timokhin for assisting with the event preparations and to Sofia Gaiduch for the wonderful photographs that captured the spirit of the celebration.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our sponsors for their financial support:
The Embassy of the Russian Federation in New Zealand, Pub Charity Ltd, and the Ethnic Communities Development Fund.
